Carolina First Bank, a subsidiary of the South Financial Group, is one of the largest commercial banks in the Southeast. A 65-acre brownfield site located within the city limits of Greenville, SC adjacent to the ICAR Campus was selected. The Carolina First Campus is a multi-phase, public/private development, with the potential for 1.2 million square feet upon completion. In addition to the selection of a brownfield site the buildings features low-flow plumbing fixtures, energy-recovery mechanical systems and building monitoring systems, preferred parking for low-emitting and fuel efficient vehicles, and installation of low-VOC materials.
